Myhilo Hrushevsky
Do you know who is
on the Ukrainian fifty hryvna bill? His
name is Myhilo Hrushevsky. He did many things but he is known mostly for his
writing and his picture is now on the Ukrainian fifty hryvna bill.
Myhilo Hrushevsky
was born in Kholm,Poland on September 29,1866. He grew up in the foothills of
Caucasia. Today this city is now named Tbilisi and is in the very small country
of Georgia. He was Russian Orthodox and
his father was a priest. He had a wife named Maria and a daughter named
Kateryna.
Myhilo died on
November 26, 1934. I think Myhilo's deep knowledge of Ukraine's culture and
history is why he was chosen to be on
the Ukrainian fifty hryvna bill. Even
today when people want to learn about Ukrainian history they read his
books.
