Pampushky Recipe
(easy homemade doughnuts)
I made these for the village children to enjoy after a late afternoon of kickball. Despite the polite rejection that is customary here, by the third offer, the children took one, said thank you....then, couldn't help themselves and gobbled them all! They are really yummy! |
2 T sugar
2 T butter
1/2 c warm milk (110 degrees)
1/4 tsp vanilla ext
pinch salt
2 eggs
1 tsp yeast
2 c flour
oil (2 c. for frying) - light sunflower oil is preferred )))
powder sugar
In Bowl -
. add butter, sugar, warm milk, vanilla
. whisk to combine
. sprinkle yeast over and whisk in
. add in eggs and whisk
. gradually add in flour
. knead on flour surface 5 min.
. let rise in bowl covered 1 1/2 hours
. roll out 1/2 " thick
. cut out 12, cover and rise 1/2 hour
. fry in pan @ 350 - 1 1/2 min. on each side - cool on wire rack
. powder with sugar
NOTE: I cut the doughnuts in half before frying with cutlery scissors because the middle wasn't cooking through.
